The power of omega-3

Omega-3 is one of the essential fatty acids, meaning that the body cannot produce them itself. Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids and the best known are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicopsapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). ALA is a plant-based omega-3 fatty acid. EPA and DHA are best known from fish fatty acids. Omega-3 has anti-inflammatory effects, contributes to brain and nervous system development, raises the immune system, skin and coat condition and hormonal balance. Finally, omega-3 helps reducing stress.
